Theatre Production: “Crimes of the Heart” by Beth Henley

Humour and drama reveal the complexity of family bonds.

Inspired by Beth Henley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, the 12 Kai Kati theatre group presented a production balancing humour and drama while exploring both the strength and complexity of family relationships.

Adapted and directed by Marina Mandri, “Crimes of the Heart” was staged at Ktirion 53, 25–27 Athinas Avenue in old Nicosia, on 4, 5, 8, 10 and 11 October 2025.

The story

Three sisters—Meg, Babe and Lenny—reunite in their family home following a crisis. Living together reopens old wounds and brings deeply hidden trauma to the surface, leading to conflict but also to a profound process of self-discovery and release from what has kept them trapped.
